Margaret Trajan, MPT, BScKin
Margaret completed her Master of Physical Therapy degree at UBC following her Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at UVic where she researched dynamic hip mobility in ballet dancers. Being a former semi-professional dancer herself, Margaret continues to have a passion for the performance arts.
Margaret has successfully completed the Level 1 exam in the Orthopaedic Division Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Program and includes manual therapy in her multimodal approach to client-centred care along with exercise and education. She looks forward to furthering her manual therapy training in the future. Helping others get back to the activities that they love and empowering them to prevent recurrent injuries is what drew Margaret to the physiotherapy profession.
Prior to completing her post-secondary education, Margaret trained at the Alberta Ballet School, where she performed in the company’s productions of Sleeping Beauty and Balanchine’s Serenade. In the years that followed, Margaret performed throughout the Lower Mainland as a freelance artist. During her time at UVic, Margaret volunteered with the Mount Doug Rams football team, where she assisted athletes with injury management and progressed her understanding of injury prevention.
Margaret grew up in Nanaimo where she participated in many activities including swimming, running, dance, and music. She currently enjoys hiking, cycling, and doing yoga in her free time. Margaret has completed the Times Colonist 10K three times and the GoodLife Fitness Victoria Half Marathon twice. She is very happy to be back in Victoria rejoining the running and dance communities and is excited about working with clients of all levels and interests in physical activity.
