Stephanie Holbrook, Registered Massage Therapist
Stephanie is a Registered Massage Therapist originally from Vancouver Island. Growing up in a community of triathletes, Stephanie developed an early appreciation for physical activity, nutrition, and a healthy lifestyle. Prior to beginning the RMT program, she completed a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia where she found her passion for a career in helping others realize their full potential in health and wellness.
Stephanie approaches manual therapy with a “movement is medicine” philosophy where the overarching goals of treatment are improved function, reduced pain and stress, personalized education, and increased confidence in one’s physical abilities. Helping her patients to become confident and informed in what they can do in daily life to improve their condition or wellbeing is what she believes to be one of the most rewarding parts of her profession. Through an evidence-based approach to determining and treating the root cause, and not just the symptoms, Stephanie’s goal is always to achieve long lasting and sustainable positive change. She uses a variety of techniques including deep tissue, Swedish, myofascial release, joint mobilizations, trigger point therapy, and active modalities, all in the context of helping clients achieve their unique goals. Stephanie has treated a wide variety of conditions, and has a particular interest in athletic injuries, postural strains, repetitive strain injuries, persistent pain and stress management, and sleep difficulties.
In her spare time, Stephanie can be found cooking, reading, hiking, singing at weddings or bars, and generally enjoying the island life.
