Christy is a Registered Massage Therapist with a diverse education and training background. She received her Bachelor of Science with honours from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse and graduated as valedictorian at the Massage Therapy College of Manitoba in 2006. She is currently the massage therapist for the Canadian National Ultimate Frisbee team.
As a sports enthusiast, Christy enjoys sport at the recreational and competitive level. These pursuits include, adventure racing, rock climbing, and competitive Ultimate Frisbee. She won the Canadian National Championship for Ultimate Frisbee in 2003, 2009, and 2015; winning the finals MVP award in 2009. Christy has competed in four World Championship for Ultimate, with a 2nd place finish in 2004, and will be representing Canada again in June, 2016 in London, England. With 19 years of experience competing in high-level sports, Christy understands the demands of training and recovering from injury and uses this knowledge to help her clients.
Christy takes an assessment-based approach to treating structural problems in both athletes and non-athletes, and finds dysfunction and pain often comes from imbalance. By using muscle energy technique (MET), fascia work, joint mobilizations, and a variety of massage techniques, range of motion is restored to optimize their health and performance. Christy’s passion for helping people feel their best is evident throughout her work.
When Christy isn’t training or working, she spends time with her husband, two energetic young boys, and rescue dogs.
